My name is Martin Parkes and I am 32 years old. II have been in Banff for just over 17months now. I am originally from A small village in England called Brockenhurst which is also in a national park, but not as nice as Banff.

I originally came to Banff because I love the outdoor lifestyle and I knew I could get work here as I had traveled through Banff the previous year. I have been around the world and I can not think of a better place to live.

I started as a bellman for Buffalo Mountain Lodge and it was my first job in the hotel industry, I was then promoted to the bell captain after 6 months in the job and I decided to stay for as long as I can as I really enjoy the life in Canada.

I was promoted to Conference coordinator in March this year and I am currently looking in to getting my residency as I enjoy it so much out here. I really like the way that if you work hard and stick around in Banff that there is the opportunity to get promoted.

I love to snowboard and mountain bike so it is the perfect place for me to be and, I wake up to see mountains every morning out of my window!!!! My favorite thing about the area would be that around every corner there is a different view which you never get bored of seeing.

I would recommend Banff to any one that is looking for a cool place to live and work everyone is friendly and helpful. I have told all my friends in England they should leave and come and give it a go out here.
